Virtually Significant

So much has been said, written, discussed, debated, contemplated, and hashed…and then re-hashed about COVID and how it has changed the way we interact with the world. It can feel like there is nothing to say anymore about COVID that hasn’t been said, or transversely it can feel like the only thing to talk about. One thing we have all grappled with in this industry is how to approach business from a virtual lens. Should we conduct all meetings virtually? How important is face to face interaction? Can we effectively show new product over a Zoom meeting? Can we make $100 decisions or $1,000,000 decisions without touching, seeing, and feeling the merchandise in person? One thing we have all done, is learned through trial and error. It has been comical, frustrating, convenient, problematic, meaningful, and eye opening to conduct business virtually, yet we have all done our best. From light boxes to a bigger light box, a revolving platform, multiple cameras from all angles, and patching in folks from across the globe, we’ve made it work as best as we can. Whether we trend towards in person, hybridize, or go all virtual may become a matter of preference. The virtual age of business is here, may as well hop on the wagon and embrace the ride.
